A 2-Week Intensive Plan for Last-Minute IELTS Preparation

If your IELTS test is only two weeks away and you need to maximize your Reading score quickly, this intensive plan focuses on the highest-impact activities rather than trying to cover everything.

Days 1-2: Baseline and diagnosis. Take one Full Mock Test immediately to see exactly where you stand and which question types need the most work. With limited time, you cannot afford to practice randomly — you need to know your weak points now.

Days 3-7: Focused daily practice. Practice one passage per day, specifically targeting your weakest question type from the diagnostic. Spend extra time reviewing explanations for wrong answers rather than just moving quickly to the next passage — understanding your mistakes is more valuable than raw volume at this stage.

Days 8-10: Timing drills. If time management is a concern, spend these days practicing strictly timed individual passages (20 minutes each), gradually tightening your pace if you are consistently finishing early, or identifying where you lose time if you are running over.

Days 11-12: Two full mock tests. Take a Full Mock Test on each of these two days under real exam conditions. This builds both stamina and familiarity with the full 60-minute format so it feels routine rather than stressful on the actual test day.

Days 13-14: Light review only, then rest. Avoid heavy new practice in the final two days — this can increase anxiety without meaningfully improving your score. Briefly review your notes on question-type strategies, then prioritize rest and sleep before the test.

A realistic expectation. Two weeks is enough time to sharpen strategy and build familiarity, but it will not dramatically change your underlying English level. Focus on eliminating avoidable mistakes (timing, word limits, careless errors) rather than expecting a huge score jump from vocabulary alone.
